昼 昼山居士(Zhoushan Jushi), original name Guangming Fu, was born in 1932 in the county town of Ningxiang, Hunan. He has developed his artistic preference on Chinese classic poetry and calligraphy from his early childhood education, which was obtained from private tutorials within traditional norm. Nevertheless, this preference was no doubt an extravagant luxury, during the years when the communist China was bombarded by chains of political unrest, to an ordinary civil servant whose brain was forced to be washed constantly, in the 'reeducation institute'. In the later years of his career, other than his ordinary administrative work, as the headmaster in the local radio institute of agriculture, without executive appointment and political redressing from the misjudgment of the former years, he initiated a regional poetry association and soon after that, resulted from his effort and outstanding success, he was pointed as one of the deputy chairman of the provincial poetry association. Alongside with the continuous earnest on classic poetry, his calligraphy has won wide recognition as well. Other than winning prizes from nation-wide calligraphy contests and participating in joint exhibitions, his calligraphic works have been also engraved on stones as special cultural scenerious in theme parks.
